Last Wednesday, we attended the funeral of 6 month old Pamela Hallasi. She was born just before we arrived in Peru. Her mother, Sujey, almost died during the pregnancy. She had pneumonia and had to have a tracheotomy to breathe. She recovered from the pneumonia and gave birth to little Pamela. Pamela, however, was born with a severely damaged heart.
Over the past few months, we were able to meet Pamela and her parents. Her father, Wilbur, is the pastor of a church in a city a few hours away from Arequipa. Pamela has struggled since she was born. She was in and out of the hosital her whole 6 months of life. We have prayed for her healing, but the Lord chose to take her home to be with Him.
The funeral was very sad. It is hard for us to imagine burying a child. But, Wilbur & Sujey were amazing testimonies of God's goodness and mercy. They know their little baby girl is in heaven and that they will see her again.
Please pray for this family. The next few months are going to be very difficult as they adjust to not having little Pamela around.
